Lost Ladies of Lit Letter — Spring Episode Lineup

Dear Friends & Listeners,

Having recently aired our 25th Lost Ladies of Lit  episode, we want to thank you for coming along for the ride. We appreciate all the love and support you’ve given us!

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, you might be interested to know that the designation traces back to the first International Women’s Day in 1911, but a school district in Sonoma County, CA gets credit for extending the celebration to a full week in March back in 1978.

Our next guest, incidentally, calls Sonoma County home. Iris Jahmal Dunkle is the author of this wonderful biography on author, adventurer and trailblazer Charmian Kittredge London (a.k.a. Mrs. Jack London). Dunkle wonders why Kittredge London seems to have been written out of her famous husband’s legend, and we’ll try to get to the bottom of that question in our discussion.

We’ve got many more fantastic guests lined up for the next three months, and if you happen to like reading our lost ladies before you listen, here’s a sneak peak at some of the authors we’ll be discussing in the coming weeks!

4/6    Jocelyn Playfair’s A House in the Country

4/20  Amy Levy’s Reuben Sachs (with guest Ann Kennedy Smith)

5/4    Peg Bracken’s The I Hate to Cook Book (with guest Helene Siegel)

5/18  Maude Hart Lovelace’s Heaven to Betsy, Betsy in Spite of Herself, Betsy Was a Junior and Betsy and Joe (with guest Sadie Stein)

6/1 Elizabeth Stoddard’s The Morgesons (with guest Rachel Vorona Cote)

One last favor to ask: Please consider reviewing our podcast if you haven’t already done so. It truly helps us find more listeners. Our deepest thanks!

Happy Spring,

Amy & Kim
